How to Influence Teens to Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

As parents, we know you always want the best for your kids.  Keeping them healthy helps keep them happy and successful.  You can help your teens stay healthy by encouraging them to eat more fruits and vegetables!

Be a positive role model for your teens so they can make healthy choices.  Below are some easy ways to be a positive role model.  Try these with your kids and you could get healthier, too!

  • Have a fruit or vegetable with every meal
  • Try new fruits or vegetables with your teen
  • Eat meals together as a family

Your teens have busy lives, so convenience can be key.  Between school and after-school activities, you may not have much time left to prepare healthy foods.  Packing cut-up fruits and vegetables in small plastic bags will make it easy for your teen to take healthy snacks on the go, wherever they’re headed!  Some easy ideas are:

  • Baby carrots
  • Orange slices
  • Bananas
  • Celery sticks
  • Apples

Buying produce can seem expensive, but there are many affordable and delicious fruits and vegetables at the grocery store!  Here are a few easy options:
