Program Overview

Daily Wellness Starters provides short, easy-to-use daily activities that help classroom teachers incorporate nutrition education and physical activity into the school day without adding a full lesson to their schedule.

Each daily starter includes a short video, thought question, interactive activity, and simple classroom movement activity tied directly to the nutrition concept for that day. Activities are quick, engaging, and easy to implement in a regular classroom setting.

Movement activities are intentionally simple and require little to no equipment, so students can participate safely beside their desks or in a small classroom space.

Program Structure

The program is organized into four nine-week quarters across the school year. Each quarter includes daily wellness starters and corresponding physical activity lesson plans that extend weekly nutrition themes through larger movement-based activities such as games, relays, and team challenges.

Physical Education Lesson Plans

Each quarter also includes physical education lesson plans aligned directly to the Daily Wellness Starters content. Weekly lessons reinforce nutrition concepts through games, relays, team challenges, and movement-based activities.

Future Expansion

Additional programs for PK–K, grades 1–2, grades 6–8, and grades 9–12 are being developed. The high school program will incorporate wearable devices to help students track fitness goals.

The purpose of Daily Wellness Starters is to help schools, especially in rural communities, build consistent wellness routines that connect healthy eating, physical activity, classroom learning, and student well-being.
