Ingredients (Scaling)

  • net weight ounces lean ground turkey
  • onion, diced
  • bell pepper, diced
  • net weight ounces canned low-sodium diced tomatoes
  • net weight ounces canned low-sodium kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • net weight ounces canned low-sodium tomato sauce
  • fluid ounces water
  • fluid ounces chili powder
  • fluid ounces cumin
  • fluid ounces garlic powder

Quick Chili Con Carne

Instructions

  • Wash hands.


  • Heat skillet to medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until brown.


  • Add onion and pepper to the skillet and cook until soft and tender, about 3-4 minutes.


  • Add tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder to the skillet. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat. Cook for 15 minutes. Serve hot.


  • To prepare in a slow cooker, add cooked turkey/onion/pepper mixture to slow cooker. Add tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, water, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder to slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours.
